Enjoy The Perks Of Treating Gum Disease With Lasers

June 9, 2018
Gum Reshaping| 3 | Nashua Family Dentistry | Nashua, NH

Since February is National Gum Disease Awareness Month, we’ve already provided a blog with a quiz to help you determine if you may be showing signs of periodontal disease, but today, we’re going to focus on treatment. If you’d like to learn about the various advantages of getting a gum disease treatment using dental lasers at Nashua Family Dentistry, call 603-546-7460.

At our Nashua, NH dentist office, we have invested in some of the most state-of-the-art dental technology on the market because we want to provide the highest level of care that we possibly can for our patients. You may even feel like you’ve gone a few decades into the future because we use dental lasers to perform a variety of treatments. Read on to learn more.

To make paying for your dental treatments a little less intimidating, we accept a variety of payment options, including third-party financing from:

  • CareCredit
  • Lending Club
  • Compassionate Finance

We also open a little earlier than a lot of dentists do so you can get your visits taken care of before you have to start your workday. With the exception of some holidays, we open our office at 8:00 a.m. every weekday (Monday through Friday).

Get A Gum Disease Treatment With Dental Lasers

In most cases, we can take care of periodontal disease using the following special methods:

  • Scaling, which is when we scrape away plaque and tartar buildup from your tooth roots
  • Root planing, which allows us to smooth out the surface of the roots of your teeth so that bad bacteria will not find a hospitable environment on your tooth roots

But depending on your case, especially if it is somewhat severe, we may recommend treating your gum disease using a soft tissue dental laser. Dentists that do not give patients this option would most likely have to use gum surgery in these cases, which many patients hope to avoid because the healing period can last a long time and be rather painful.

Instead of using gum surgery, we will take care of advanced gum disease with a special laser that can gently sanitize the spaces between your tooth roots and gumline. This not only eliminates the cause of the infection but also promotes speedy healing. It also saves patients from having to deal with the discomfort of surgical procedures that often involve scalpels.

By using laser dentistry to treat your gum disease, you’ll also be able to get your procedure done much more quickly. Instead of having to sit in the dentist’s chair for an extended period of time, we’ll quickly zap away the causes of your gum disease.

Patients also heal much more quickly when they undergo a gum disease treatment using laser dentistry as compared to traditional surgical techniques. That means that you’ll be feeling normal again much soon and be able to chew and smile normally again in no time.

Using laser dentistry to address infections and other periodontal issues also makes the process practically pain-free for patients. You won’t have to stress about feeling discomfort during your visit!

We also go above and beyond to make patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible, no matter whether they are visiting us for a general dentistry treatment or something more complex.

For example, we offer patients various amenities, such as:

  • Warm, soft blankets
  • Cozy pillows
  • Relaxing music to help put you at ease

We can also provide an extended appointment if you want to take your time and make sure you don’t feel rushed at all.

And if all that doesn’t put you at ease, we also offer dental sedation to help relieve dental anxiety. If you choose to take advantage of this option, we will provide a prescription for a pill that you’ll take before you arrive at our office for your visit. You’ll walk in already relaxed and feel much more at ease the whole time you’re with us.

If you like to feel as informed as possible and are better able to relax when you are, we can also give you a clear view of exactly what we’re talking about both before and after your treatment thanks to our intraoral camera. You’ll see what we see and be able to ask any questions that you have as well!

Experience the many perks of gum disease treatment performed with a high-tech dental laser at Nashua Family Dentistry today. To book your appointment or ask a team member any questions you may have, call 603-546-7460, swing by our conveniently located Nashua, NH dentist office in person, or use our handy online form.

Always an equal amount of "Professional" and "Friendly". Yesterday I was due for a complete set of x-rays which can be painful when they stuff all the paraphernalia into your mouth and tell you to bite down and hold. Melissa was my Hygienist and I can honestly say her skill was such that the entire procedure was completely painless. Nice job, Melissa!
