To Our Patients,

We understand and deeply respect that you may be concerned about coronavirus in public places, even at our state-of-the-art sterilized office.

Our first priority is always the health and well-being of our patients. And that is a priority we take extremely seriously, even with the current disruptions we’re all experiencing.

It has been a very difficult decision, but we have decided that it is in the best interest of our community, our team, and our patients that we not see regular patients until at least Monday, April 6, 2020.

If you do have a dental emergency, we are here and will be here and happy to help you. Please call us at 603-546-7460.

This is just one more way that we can show our high level of care for you … and for everyone in our community. We very much look forward to seeing you, your family, and your friends very soon.

As always, if you have any questions, please call our office at 603-546-7460.

Sincerely,
Dr. James Kiehl

Being Older Is The Perfect Age For Cosmetic Dentistry

July 6, 2017

Everyone deserves a smile that looks amazing. When you have unsightly teeth, it’s embarrassing. Given how often people take and share photos these days, that makes your smile even bigger in your life. So when you have stained, chipped, or crooked teeth, it saps your self-esteem.

Call our Nashua, NH dental office today at 603-546-7460 to schedule cosmetic dentistry. Our Nashua dentists can give you a bright, healthy-looking smile that makes you proud to show it off. Although everyone deserves cosmetic dentistry, older adults are often the perfect candidates.

Why Younger People Should Wait

Cosmetic dentistry is not recommended for teens. Here are a few reasons why.

– Wisdom teeth might still need to come through

Your wisdom teeth come in much later than your other teeth. There’s no set schedule, either. For some people, wisdom teeth wait many years before finally starting to come through the gums in the back of your mouth.

When they finally arrive, they tend to cause trouble. They can knock your teeth out of alignment, and many times, they have to be removed. That’s why it’s best to wait on cosmetic dentistry until those wisdom teeth have been taken care of.

– Teeth can still be moving too much

To be honest, your teeth never truly stop moving. Chewing day after day can nudge your teeth out of alignment. However, younger people’s teeth are often more easily moved than adult teeth. Since the teeth haven’t settled down yet, getting cosmetic dentistry at this age doesn’t make sense. Why get dental veneers to cover small gaps between your teeth if those gaps are going to get wider?

– Immaturity can be a problem

When you’re young, you see the world differently. Not all young people are immature, but this can be a problem. That’s another reason why it’s better to wait on cosmetic dentistry when you’re young. It’s harder to follow instructions and remember follow-up appointments when your mind is easily moved to other ideas.

Cosmetic Dentistry Is Great At This Age

You can get many different cosmetic dentistry treatments from our Nashua dentists. Teeth whitening, dental veneers, gum reshaping, and more can give you a smile you deserve. Here are a few reasons why being older is a great time for these treatments.

– Your teeth have mostly settled into position

Again, your teeth are never locked in position. Even if you had braces when you were younger, you could have small problems now. But since your teeth are mostly settled, it makes sense to work on how they look. Dental veneers and tooth bonding will last longer now that your teeth are more stable.

– You can better afford cosmetic dentistry treatments

When you’re young and just starting out, it can be hard to come up with extra money. At that age, you’re spending most of your money on bills and frivolous things. By now, you’ve managed to become more successful and financially stable. That means you can more easily afford to get dental veneers, teeth whitening, and more.

– You have more big events in life

As you get older, you start attending big events where having a great smile comes in handy. You graduate, get married, have kids, and take family vacations. All of those mean your smile will appear in lots of photographs that will last a lifetime. (And thanks to the internet, these will be shared with many, many people.) In other words, you have more reasons at this age to get gum reshaping, tooth bonding, and more.

– You’re mature enough to handle instructions

By this age, you’re more likely to do the hard things that need doing. You’re also more likely to pay your bills on time, keep the house clean, and more. That means you’ve matured and can handle any instructions for your cosmetic dentistry treatment. For example, you’re not likely to miss a teeth whitening treatment because you’re used to doing such things.

Call Nashua Family Dentistry today at 603-546-7460 or use our convenient online form to schedule your next appointment for cosmetic dentistry. With our Nashua dentists’ skills and expertise, you can finally get the bright, happy smile you deserve.

An amazing dentist, with a staff full of people who genuinely care about you. My most recent experience, I forgot to have a very important form filled out (requirement for those in the NG) and they went through HOOPS to get my form filled out and returned to me. I can’t recommend them enough!
