Sometimes, you need a little help to look your best. If there’s a special occasion coming up, it helps to be able to call on your friends’ expertise when it comes to looking sharp and glamorous: From borrowing an outfit (or two) to the latest style tips, having friends who know how to look good and help you to look good.
But when it comes to your smile, there’s little that even your most fashion-forward friend can do to help you. That’s because the elements of smile style are much different than those which govern your wardrobe; in this case it takes a professional to deliver professional results.
And that’s exactly what we do here at Nashua Area Family Dentistry. If you want to have a smile that truly “pops” but don’t require any extensive restorative treatments, then you could greatly benefit from my porcelain veneers treatment!
What Are Veneers?
When we talk about veneers, we are talking about thin porcelain “sheaths,” or coverings, that will fit over the tooth you want to enhance.
Typically, the kinds of imperfections a veneer can take care of are the very kinds of imperfections that can make it difficult or outright impossible to smile without a sense of crippling embarrassment. I’m talking about
- Cracked teeth
- Chipped teeth
- Slightly irregular teeth
- Tooth discoloration
And many, many more. But the point should be clear: If your self-esteem has been taking a hit due to these problems, then chances are veneers are right for you.
I use only the finest porcelain material for my veneers. They are unmatched in their ability to replicate the shine and translucency of your natural smile.
How Do Veneers Work?
Getting your new, glistening veneers is a rather straightforward process.
First, you need to make your appointment with me, your new Nashua dentist, so that I may examine your smile. This is necessary not just to see if your smile is in good enough shape for a veneers treatment (such as if you have gum disease, for example, which needs to be treated before any cosmetic dentistry procedures might begin), but this will also allow me to detect any other problems with your smile that you might not even be aware of.
Once I’ve made the assessment that your smile is ready for veneers, I’ll begin taking measurements of your smile so that the veneers themselves will fit perfectly on the teeth that you want to treat.
Creating the necessary space for your new veneer is the next step. In many cases, the problem tooth needs to be slightly filed down so that the veneer has enough room to fit comfortably. Don’t worry, it’s not as painful as it sounds.
After that is taken care of, all that’s left is to do is fit the veneers onto your teeth. I use a simple chemical bonding process that is easy on your teeth, yet strong enough to hold the veneer in place for years – even decades – with the right kind of attention and care.
Discovering The Benefits of Veneers
With a new veneer, or set of veneers, you’ll be able to smile with the kind of confidence and poise you’ve been sorely lacking in for years now.
But veneers aren’t just about looking better: They can actually help to protect your teeth from the very forces that conspired to ruin your smile in the first place. With some exceptions, a veneer can serve as a protective barrier between your underlying tooth and the acids, bacteria, and other harmful things that can wreck your teeth.
In this way, you’ll be able to enjoy added protection for your smile while you bask in the radiant confidence that only a healthy, attractive smile can give you.
I have treated countless patients who have found the courage to get the smile they’ve always wanted. And I have to say, watching their faces light up for what must be the first time in years when they see their new smile is exactly why I do what I do. You, too, can have this transformative experience. All it takes is making an appointment.
How Can You Find Out If Veneers Are Right For You?
