I’ve always struggled with going to the dentist, whether it’s for a cleaning or anything more like a filling or a crown, and they’ve done really well by me. And I still come with anxiety, but not like the white knuckle fear that [I] used to have.
Well, I think, that as a child I had one filling. And it was the worst experience of my entire life. The Novocaine didn’t work. The dentist said, basically, suck it up and keep going. And so he did, and I told my mother I was never going to the dentist again. I was in fourth grade. Had another dentist years after that, never went back to that dentist, and he was okay. He ended up retiring. And the hygienist that worked for my old dentist came here and she said, “You know what. I think you’ll be really happy.” So here I am and have been just a happy camper ever since.
The people are absolutely fantastic. If there’s any sign of stress, they stop what they’re doing to make sure that you’re okay. It’s a calm, friendly environment. Yes, I still get nervous but, again, it’s not the full on panic that I had before, because I know I’m in good hands. I would recommend to anybody. Again, especially if you’re nervous. And if you want a dentist that you know, like if need to be seen, they’re going to see you. I have a friend who’s going through a similar thing with her dentist. She’ll be changing. She cracked her tooth. It took them 2 weeks to see her. And I was just like, “Oh my goodness. No. Like if you have that issue my dentist, the next day someone will look at you. And that situation will be taken care of.”
They’re wonderful with me. Again, you know, basically a basket case when I would be coming here. And they calm me right down. They don’t make you feel like you’re an idiot for being afraid. It’s like it’s perfectly normal. They’re in control. They’ll deal with it. They’ll take care of things. And it helps put you at ease.
